Rumors in Parkson, Miri, Sarawak

Story 1:

There are rumours that a Kwai Moon Kwan ("Ghost Gate" or Portal to Hell) is located at the place behind Sushi King (New Wing) Bintang Plaza.

There is a small roadside altar (red Chinese altar) in that area. The roadside altar was initially only a small poorly built structure but it has been "renovated" and "upgraded" several times within only 3 years and now it is considerably bigger and more well-equipped than it used to be. According to rumours, the altar was "upgraded" because the spirits in the area are more powerful / becoming more powerful.

Story 2:
Rumours have been floating around Miri that almost 500 human skeletons were found at the construction site of the new hotel adjoining Bintang Megamall / Bintang Plaza (soon-to-be Meritz Hotel). They are believed to have been killed and buried during the Japanese occupation of World War II.

I've also heard from a sales person there who has said that there is supposedly a powerful "lady in red" who is behind the deaths of several men there. The sales person said it is believed that the "lady" is out to kill 7 men in order to menjadi manusia (revert to human form)..after which she would drink blood to survive (pontianak).
Apparently the situation became unbearable to the shop owners there and a Chinese exorcist or bomoh was called but it did not improve the situation.
There are speculations that there will be some special prayers held in the area around mid to end May 2011.

Story 3:
There's a Bata Shop (Bata shoe shop) situated at the new wing of Bintang Plaza on the Ground Floor, near Secret Recipe Restaurant and Sushi King Restaurant. Some people have been saying that it's haunted, and each story is basically a variation of the same theme:

Ms. M's sister knows the owner of the Bata Shop.
Apparently the store is a mess and shoes are thrown all over when the staff open shop in the mornings. The owner was understandably not pleased and reviewed the CCTV recordings to catch the culprit.

However, when they reviewed the CCTV recordings, the owner and staff were shocked when they saw the shoes seem to fly off the racks by themselves...
